Objects: Matchboxes and letters.

Correspondence concerning missing soldiers during First World War, together with the many matchboxes that are in the archives were the inspiration for this artwork. Small calling cards have been created, with animal designs inspired by the original matchboxes, accompanied by the closing line and signature of distressed relatives asking for information about their loved one from the commanding officer. They combine the everyday and the requirement to carry on with life, with the trauma of loss and unknowing.
